Well, we had semi decent weather for a hike.. at last! I think having an entire hike not being rained upon or snowed upon is a new record for this crew!
The Dead River Falls hike is a nice 2-2.5 mile route (an out and back trail) that brings you to multiple cascading water falls along the Dead River in Marquette.
The spring melt along with spring rain has the river extremely full and fast so the falls were wonderful to view. As the summer sets in, the water level of the Dead River will decrease, but the falls will remain beautiful nonetheless.
Despite a few snow and ice patches making our trails a bit challenging we had an enjoyable hike. If you have never seen these falls, ask someone to show you how to get there off of Forrestville Road in Marquette! Better yet, ask one of our "Take A Hike" members to be your guide!
